Far infrared heat is a form of energy that is directly transmitted onto objects at a specific wavelength. Conventional saunas transfer heat by circulating hot air thus warming the body from the head down. Far infrared heat rays however warm the body directly allowing deep heat at a more pleasant temperature of between 43 and 66ΊC. This affords more health benefits in a more comfortable and therefore more enjoyable environment. Conventional saunas use high temperatures to extract impurities from the body, but infrared saunas can directly penetrate 45 mm inside the body. Impurities can be pushed out at a lower and more comfortable temperature.
The energy output is tuned to correspond very closely to the body's own radiant energy and bodies absorb as much as 93% of the infrared waves reaching the skin. The radiant heat is safe and effective and similar to the sun's warmth. It is more efficient because it warms the body and not the air.
